1. Muffle the engine and wait its complete cooling. Having reached through an opening in the valve, a finger press on its diaphragm, at moderate effort the diaphragm should cave in considerably (address to an accompanying illustration). |
2. If the diaphragm does not cave in, or shows appreciable resistance, it is necessary to replace the EGR valve. In case of absence of confidence of results of check compare the valve with new, or obviously serviceable. |
