Check of serviceability of functioning and regenerative repair of a heater of back glass

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The working element of a heater of back glass represents a horizontal lattice from the current-carrying threads pasted on an internal surface of glass. Activation of a heater is made by means of the switch located on the dashboard of the car. Check serviceability of functioning of the switch (see. Section Check of serviceability of functioning and replacement of the switch of heating of back glass).
2. Small breaks of current-carrying threads of a lattice of a working element of a heater can be eliminated without dismantle of back glass.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Include ignition and a heater of back glass. Press positive щуп the voltmeter to the positive plug of a lattice of a heating element, negative щуп press to the grounding plug. The device should register tension of the battery, otherwise check a condition of a safety lock, the switch and connecting electroconducting. If tension in norm, however, a part of a heater does not work. Pass to the following stage of check.
2. To measure tension during described below checks wind positive щуп the voltmeter with a metal foil which it will be easy to press a finger directly to a tokoprovodny thread of a lattice of a heating element (address to an accompanying illustration). Negative щуп a measuring instrument connect to the plug of grounding of a lattice.
3. Measure tension in the central part of each of lattice threads. The indication in 5-6 In testifies to serviceability of a condition of a thread. The zero indication speaks about break existence between the center of a thread and a positive side of an element. Indication overestimate twice (10-12 In) occurs in the presence of break between the center of a thread and a negative side of an element. Serially check each of lattice threads.
4. In the absence of breaks connect negative щуп to mass of the chassis and repeat check, indications should not change, violation of quality of grounding of a lattice otherwise takes place.
5. For localization of break press negative щуп the voltmeter to the negative plug of a lattice of a heating element. Wrapped up by a foil positive shchupy start to probe tokoprovodny threads of a lattice, moving from food giving to weight. Instrument reading should fall in a break point from several volts to zero.

Regenerative repair

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Restoration of integrity of current-carrying threads is made by means of special two-componental electrowire paste of the Dupont No. 4817 type.
2. Before starting regenerative repair of a lattice of a working element switch off a heater and let's to an element cool down within several minutes.
3. Slightly smooth out the damaged site of a thread felt, then carefully wipe it alcohol.
4. Paste two strips of an adhesive tape along a subject to restoration of a site of a thread.
5. Carefully mix epoksidny paste with a hardener (follow instructions enclosed in a set).
6. Put the received structure on the damaged site (with a tipping over approximately in 20 mm on regions of the intact thread) (address to an accompanying illustration).
7. Final polymerization of a compound occurs in 24 hours after which protective strips of an adhesive tape can be removed from glass.
