Removal, check of a condition and installation of a gas-distributing belt and cogwheels of a drive of GRM

Removal

Exact observance of phases of a gazoraspredeleniye is very important, but for DOHC engines important extremely. Incorrect installation of phases can seriously damage the engine. Be accurate at installation of a belt of a drive of GRM and before the first start after repair once again check coincidence of labels.

Assembly of a drive of GRM


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Remove protection of a case.
3. Merge cooling liquid from a radiator and the engine block (see. Head of System of cooling of the engine, salon and air conditioning heating).
4. Remove a radiator (see. Head of System of cooling of the engine, salon and air conditioning heating).
5. Uncover throttle cases.
6. Remove an inlet air line.
7. Remove a driving belt with the coupling and a pulley of a cranked shaft.
8. Without disconnecting hydraulic tubes, remove the pump GUR, take him aside and tie up it so that it did not disturb.
9. Having unscrewed a bolt, then having uncovered, remove an intermediate roller of a driving belt (address to an illustration above).
10. Remove the right cover (right No. 3) a belt of a drive of GRM.
11. Remove the left cover (left No. 3) a belt of a drive of GRM. Be careful at a detachment of conducting of the sensor of provision of a camshaft (CMP).
12. Remove the following cover of a GRM belt (cover No. 2).
13. Without disconnecting tubes To/in, remove the To/in compressor, take him aside and tie up there that did not disturb.
14. Remove a fan arm. For its fastening bolts of the different size are used – combine them so that not to mix at installation.
15. If it is necessary to establish a belt of a drive of GRM back, find on it three adjusting labels, rotating a cranked shaft clockwise. Find labels on cogwheels of a cranked shaft and camshafts. If labels on a belt were erased, put new to facilitate installation (address to an accompanying illustration).
16. Weaken, but do not turn out a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft. Deduction of a cranked shaft from a provorachivaniye will need the special tool.
17. Establish the cylinder No. 1 piston in VMT of a step of compression.

  1. Turn a pulley of a cranked shaft so that its risk It was combined with a label to a GRM belt cover No. 1.
  2. Check coincidence of labels on cogwheels of camshafts with labels on back covers of a GRM belt. If labels do not coincide, the cylinder No. 1 piston in VMT of a step of compression is not established. Turn a cranked shaft precisely on one turn before the following combination of a label of a pulley with a label 0 on a cover of No. of 1 belt of a drive of GRM.
  3. Unscrew a bolt of a pulley of a cranked shaft, trying not to bring down labels. A pulley of a cranked shaft do not rotate.
18. Having unscrewed two bolts, remove a natyazhitel of a belt of a drive of GRM and a boot. If the natyazhitel of a belt is replaced only, fix a belt on a pulley a wire. Put labels on a belt and a cogwheel of the right camshaft.
19. Remove a belt from cogwheels of camshafts. For this purpose weaken a belt tension between cogwheels of camshafts, having put on a cap key a bolt of fastening of an asterisk of the left camshaft and having slightly turned it clockwise.
20. For removal of cogwheels of camshafts by the bifurcate tool fix a cogwheel from a provorachivaniye and unscrew the central bolt (address to an accompanying illustration). Try not to turn cogwheels.
21. Remove the generator.
22. Remove a natyazhitel of a driving belt.
23. For removal of a pulley of a cranked shaft the central bolt should be already turned out. Pull together a pulley from a sock of a cranked shaft with a stripper suitable for this purpose. Do not turn a cranked shaft not to bring down VMT installation.
24. Remove the bottom cover of a belt of a drive GRM (cover No. 1).
25. Remove directing washer and a cover pro-rate.
26. Remove from the engine a belt of a drive of GRM. If it is necessary to establish a belt back, and adjusting labels on it were erased, put new rather dot label on a cogwheel of a cranked shaft.
27. If it is necessary, remove intermediate rollers and check smoothness of their rotation.
28. If it is necessary to remove a cogwheel of a cranked shaft, pull together it with a suitable stripper. Try not to shift a cranked shaft with VMT.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check a condition of a belt of a drive of GRM. Do not bend it at an acute angle and do not turn inside out. Do not allow hit on a belt of oil, water, antifreeze or solvents. If there are damages of teeths of a belt, check, whether camshafts are blocked. If there is an appreciable wear or cracks on a back surface of a belt, check absence of damages of a surface of rollers and a pulley of the water pump. At detection of unilateral wear of a belt check parallelism of pulleys and their axes, directing washer. If there is an appreciable wear of teeths of a belt, damages of covers of a belt or teeths of cogwheels are possible. For an otvorachivaniye of bolts of fastening of cogwheels of camshafts do not use a tension of a belt of a drive of GRM.
2. Check a condition of intermediate rollers. Check integrity of consolidations of their bearings. If it is necessary, rollers replace. Check lack of a leak of a natyazhitel. Try to push a rod – it should not move. If the rod manages to be pushed, replace a natyazhitel. Measure a rod ledge – it should be equal 10.5 – 11.5 mm (address to an accompanying illustration).
3. Check lack of a leak of the water pump. The pump should rotate smoothly, without люфтов.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If acted in film, establish a cogwheel of a cranked shaft, having combined a shponka it is not mute with a flute. Probably, it is required accurately напрессовать a cogwheel on a shaft by means of a suitable piece of a pipe.
2. Establish intermediate rollers. Put on a carving of bolts some drops of fixing Loctite 242 hermetic or similar. Tighten bolts with effort of 35 Nanometers. Check smoothness of rotation of rollers.
3. Temporarily establish a belt of a drive of GRM. Carefully clear cogwheels and rollers of oil and water, wipe them pure dry rags. Solvents do not use. Combine an adjusting label of a belt with a label of a cogwheel of a cranked shaft. Put on a belt a cogwheel of a cranked shaft and pulleys of parasitic rollers.
4. Establish a pro-rate of a cover of a GRM belt.
5. Establish directing washer the convex party outside.
6. Establish a cover of a belt of a drive of GRM and fix it four bolts.
7. Establish a pulley of a cranked shaft. Combine a shponka with a cut and establish a pulley. For this purpose, probably, it is necessary напрессовать a pulley by means of a piece of a suitable pipe.
8. Establish a natyazhitel of a driving belt (not a GRM belt). A bolt in length of 106 mm and a nut tighten with effort of 16 Nanometers.
9. Establish the generator.
10. Check the provision of a pulley of a cranked shaft. Risk on a pulley it should be combined with a label 0 on a cover of a belt of a drive of GRM.
11. Establish cogwheels of camshafts. Put on cogwheels, having combined their openings with pins of camshafts. Holding cogwheels from a provorachivaniye the bifurcate tool, tighten bolts of their fastening with effort of 108 Nanometers. Carefully clear cogwheels and dry wipe them pure rags. Solvents do not use.
12. Establish a belt on cogwheels of camshafts:

  1. Turn a cogwheel of the left camshaft before combination of its label of a gazoraspredeleniye with an adjusting label on a belt of a drive of GRM. Put on a belt a cogwheel.
  2. Turn a cogwheel of the left camshaft counter-clockwise that there was a belt tension on a shoulder between cogwheels of the left camshaft and a cranked shaft.
  3. Turn a cogwheel of the right camshaft before combination of an adjusting label of a belt with a label of a gazoraspredeleniye of a cogwheel. Put on a belt a cogwheel.

13. By means of a press press a rod of a natyazhitel. For this purpose about 981-987 N.Sovmestite's effort of an opening of a rod and the case of a natyazhitel is required and insert a pin in diameter of 1.27 mm to fix a rod. Release a press and put on a boot. Establish a natyazhitel on the engine and tighten alternately bolts of its fastening the moment of 26 Nanometers. Having established to a natyazhitel, take a pin flat-nose pliers.
14. Check gazoraspredeleniye labels. Temporarily establish a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft. Slowly turn a cranked shaft clockwise on two complete revolutions. Verify coincidence of labels of a gazoraspredeleniye on cogwheels and a pulley.
15. If labels of a gazoraspredeleniye coincide, tighten a bolt of fastening of a pulley the moment of 245 Nanometers. Pulley deduction from a provorachivaniye will need the bifurcate tool.
16. Establish a fan arm. Establish bolts of fastening of an arm on the places. Bolts are tightened as follows:

  1. Bolts with heads of 12 mm tighten with effort of 16 Nanometers.
  2. Bolts with heads of 14 mm tighten the moment of 32 Nanometers.

17. Establish the To/in compressor (at the corresponding complete set).
18. Establish a cover of No. 2 belts of a drive of GRM and tighten two bolts of its fastening with effort 16Нм.
19. Establish the right cover of a belt of a drive of GRM. Tighten bolts and a nut with effort of 7.5 Nanometers.
20. Establish the left cover of a GRM belt:

  1. Establish a tube of a maslookhladitel, having fixed it a nut with a bolt.
  2. Carry out CMP sensor conducting through an opening in a cover.
  3. Establish a cover of a belt of a drive of GRM, having combined it with a fan arm.
  4. Tighten a bolt and a nut with effort of 7.5 Nanometers.
  5. Establish a sealant of conducting of the sensor in a cover, attach the socket and attach it to an arm.
  6. Fix engine conducting.

21. Establish an intermediate roller of a driving belt and tighten its bolt the moment of 39 Nanometers.
22. Establish the pump GUR and tighten bolts the moment of 17 Nanometers.
23. Installation of the remained components make as it should be the return to an order of their dismantle.
24. Start the engine and make sure of lack of leakages and extraneous noise.
