Check of serviceability of functioning and replacement of the block of the sensor of a measuring instrument of temperature of cooling liquid

Start procedure performance only after complete cooling of the engine! See also preventions at the beginning of the Section Antifreeze – general information. Remember that at the included ignition the fan of system of cooling can work even at the muffled engine.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At refusal of a measuring instrument of temperature of cooling liquid first of all check a condition of the corresponding safety locks (see. Onboard electric equipment).
2. If the measuring instrument fixes an engine overheat, address to the Section devoted to diagnostics of malfunctions of knots and systems of the car in Introduction to the real Management.
3. If at unequivocally cold engine the measuring instrument fixes an overheat, disconnect electroconducting from the measuring instrument sensor. If after a detachment of electroconducting of the indication of a measuring instrument fall, replace the sensor, otherwise it is necessary to check electroconducting on a chain site between the sensor and a measuring instrument on existence of signs of short circuit on weight.
4. If the measuring instrument at serviceable safety locks does not function at all (the arrow remains motionless even after 10-minute warming up of the engine), muffle the engine and disconnect electroconducting from the temperature sensor. By means of a wire crossing point close a sensor wire on weight. For short time include ignition, without starting the engine, – if the arrow of the indicator deviates till the end of a scale, replace the sensor.

Do not leave the sensor connected more long, than it is really necessary for check!

5. If the sensor does not react in any way to connection, check on break electroconducting. The probability of refusal actually a measuring instrument is not excluded also.

Replacement

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Uncover cases of a throttle and a flange of an inlet air line the throttle case. Then remove a flange of the case of a throttle from the inlet pipeline.
2. Disconnect from the sensor electroconducting.
3. By means of a high face head turn out the old sensor from the block (prepare for collecting spilled liquid).
4. Screw with demanded effort to a place of the removed sensor new which carving previously grease with current-carrying hermetic (not a teflon tape or a tape FUM). Connect electroconducting.
5. Fill system of cooling and make sure of serviceability of functioning of a measuring instrument of temperature.
