Towage

Strictly speaking, the emergency vehicle should be towed with the driving (forward) wheels torn off from the earth (best of all in general on a wrecker platform). In emergency situations car towage for towing eyes is authorized. If it is necessary to make car towage without a separation of lobbies or back wheels, disconnect the corresponding driveshaft from assembly of differential of the bridge, transfer the selector lever to neutral situation, and the switch of interaxal differential – in the situation OFF (Otkl.).

Use at towage of an emergency vehicle only towing sling specially intended for this purpose which can be got cheaply practically in any shop of automobile accessories. The sling should cling only to bearing body elements, and in which case not for a bumper.

Do not forget to turn a key in the lock of ignition of the towed car in the situation ACC or ON, otherwise inevitably there will be a blocking of a steering column. Besides, at the included ignition indexes of turns and stoplights are activated also.

Remember that at the switched-off engine efficiency of braking of the car considerably decreases because the vacuum amplifier of brakes ceases to function. Thus it is necessary to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake with a little big, than usually effort. On the models equipped with the power steering (GUR), at maneuvering performance the bigger effort should be put as well to a steering wheel.

The driver of a towed vehicle should try to hold constantly a towing sling in the tense situation in order to avoid breakthroughs and arrivals on it wheels.

Before a start of motion drivers of both vehicles (towing and towed) should coordinate among themselves a route.

Movement should be carried out only with moderate speeds, on the shortest route and observance of traffic regulations. Avoid sharp braking, accelerations and maneuvering.
